The Indian Library Association (ILA) is honoured to host its 72nd Annual Conference 2027 in the historic "City of Pearls," in collaboration with the University of Hyderabad, an Institution of Eminence. This premier international summit serves as a global nexus for librarians, information scientists, academicians, students, policymakers, and technology innovators.
As the digital and physical frontiers of information continue to merge, this conference provides a vital forum to examine the shifting paradigms of our field. This landmark event will help redefine the role of libraries as catalysts for global knowledge and social progress.
The main theme of the conference is Future Libraries: Advancing Research & Excellence 2027 (FLARE-2027). The conference focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Open Science, Digital Libraries, Green Libraries, Research Data Management, Assistive Technologies, and emerging innovations in Library and Information Science.

The Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) Library of the University of Hyderabad is a premier academic library dedicated to supporting teaching, learning, research, and innovation. It serves thousands of faculty members, students, research scholars, and academic professionals.
Inaugurated on 21 October 1988 by the late Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, the then Vice-President of India, the Library is named in honour of former Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi. Since its establishment, it has evolved into one of India's leading university libraries.
The Library houses more than 4.5 lakh books, journals, theses, dissertations, reports, manuscripts, and electronic resources covering a wide range of disciplines. It offers access to national and international scholarly databases, e-books, e-journals, and research support platforms.
Equipped with modern technology and user-centric services, the IGM Library provides plagiarism detection, remote access facilities, digital reference services, citation support, research assistance, and advanced learning spaces.
4.5 Lakh+ Resources
The Indian Library Association (ILA), established on 13 September 1933 during the All India Library Conference held in Calcutta, is the oldest and largest professional organization representing library and information professionals in India.
Registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, the Association has consistently worked towards strengthening library services, promoting professional education, encouraging research, and advancing information access across the country.
Through national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, publications, and training programmes, ILA provides an active platform for librarians, academicians, researchers, students, and information professionals to exchange ideas and discuss emerging trends.
The Association publishes scholarly resources including the Journal of Indian Library Association (JILA), newsletters, and conference proceedings while promoting innovation, ethical practices, digital transformation, collaboration, and professional excellence.
